The Berkley Shimma Fork proved to be an above-par performer on snapper in its initial release a year ago. We knew the lure got the bite, but that gnarly, forceful jaw of a snapper required some tuning of the terminals to make sure even the biggest red dawgs made it to the boat. Enter, the Shimma Big Red, with a hook upgrade from trebles to Owner S-125M singles, an increase in snapper captures of over 50% fast ensued. The Shimma Big Red keeps the original Shimma Fork fish catching action and profile, but is tuned up to get the gnarliest reef species such as snapper to the boat.
