2023 sees new shapes, new sizes, and hot new translucent metallic colours to complement some of the existing classic Gulp! shapes.
The all-new Berkley Gulp! 2.5” Grub was painstakingly developed by Berkley engineers in the US to swim on superlight jig heads whilst remaining up right with minimum tail start up lag. As soon as the Gulp! 2.5” Grub hits the water the tail goes into action creating turbulence and distributing scent into the water column
5″ TURBO SHRIMP
The Berkley Gulp! 5” Turbo Shrimp’s larger body profile and increased surface area efficiently disperse scent into the water column to increase the bite zone whilst the larger active swim legs create water turbulence to switch on inactive fish. The Gulp! 5” Turbo Shrimp can be simply slow rolled like a swim bait or hopped along the bottom to produce explosive strikes. Be warned, you’ll need to hang on!
3″ & 4″ MINNOWS
The Gulp! Minnow’s slender body and forked tail produces a life like darting action which is exhibited by many types of small schooling baitfish. Add in four new vibrant colours and this little baitfish profile is just the ticket to tempt fussy biters on your next trip.
The new 2023 colours combined with a slender body that gets down fast, a hyperactive curl tail that’s always working overtime and the proven Gulp! formula ensure you have the perfect bait to Catch More Fish!
5″ & 7″ JERK SHAD
The Gulp! Jerk Shads are the leading snapper soft bait in the country, and now will feature a range of four new vibrant translucent metallic colours which are sure to catch you more fish.
The Gulp! 6” Grub is now available in four new translucent metallic colours that complement its existing classic action and Gulp! scent dispersion. You’ve always wanted Gulp! that looks like PowerBait, and now you have it.
One of Australia’s most pressure waterways, Sydney Harbour can have its moments of glory, but is also known to leave seasoned anglers scratching their head, wondering “where are the fish?”. It can be hard a playground to crack when it comes to bagging a catch, but that’s where Gulp! excels and leaves the rest for dead. THE SCIENCE OF GULP! SCENT & TASTE
Kicking off around the early 90’s, top marine biologist Dr Keith Jones and chemical engineer, John Prochnow got to work on designing a bait that was truly revolutionary.
Through deep research and testing, Berkley’s team of scientists quickly learnt all about a fish’s sensory system and how they use it to hunt & survive. Their learnings showed the need to create a bait that was scent dispersant and would be attractive to fish all over the planet. That’s when Gulp! was born.
Hear from Berkley’s own, Mark (Captain) Phillips about the making of Gulp! and what sets it apart from all other baits to help anglers like you Catch More Fish!
With a sense of smell 1000x times better than ours, fish use their powerful nostrils to constantly sample the flow of water to tell the difference between food and other organic compounds.
To capitalise on this, Berkley scientists set out to make a scent that was not only irresistible to fish, but water soluble in design to disperse 400x more effectively than any other soft bait.
With over 20 years of continuous research and development into fish feeding stimulants, when a Berkley Gulp! bait hits the water, you know it’s creating a field of scent that fish just can’t resist.
